Bridgwater LCN aims to Drive Community Progress
The Bridgwater Local Community Network (LCN) is forging ahead on its mission to empower and improve the local community. Following a successful inaugural meeting in June, the LCN held its second gathering recently, marking another step towards community development and engagement.
At the second meeting, the LCN witnessed the election of its Chairman, Councillor Diogo Rodrigues, who shared his enthusiasm about being elected to this vital role: "I am privileged to have been elected as Chairman of the Bridgwater LCN. This initiative has the ability to be hugely important to our community, as it allows us to work hand in hand with residents, businesses, and organisations to enhance our town's overall well-being."
The Bridgwater LCN aims to be the voice of local communities, emphasising collaboration and partnership to address residents' concerns effectively. Councillor Rodrigues emphasised the significance of the LCN to communities across Bridgwater: "Our LCN is not just a forum for discussion; it should be a platform for action. From Kingsdown to Hamp, I'm committed to ensuring that we're making a real difference to the lives of everyone in Bridgwater by addressing their priorities and working together toward meaningful solutions."
One of the initiatives discussed by the Chair and Vice-Chair after the meeting was the focus on mapping out youth provision services in the LCN area. The goal is to identify existing services for young people, promote them, and pinpoint gaps that can be filled through collaborative efforts with partners and organisations throughout Bridgwater.
The Bridgwater LCN is eager to involve all voluntary and community groups in these efforts. Councillor Rodrigues issued a call to action, stating, "We invite all voluntary and community groups to join us at our next meeting on Monday, November 20th. Your input is invaluable to make this LCN a success, and we can work together to shape a brighter future for Bridgwater."
