Ashley Fox, the new Member of Parliament for Bridgwater, recently visited the Bridgwater Foodbank to gain a stronger understanding of the services it provides to residents. Invited by the foodbank team, Ashley witnessed first hand the growing demand for food assistance and the comprehensive support offered to those in need.
The visit highlighted the struggles faced by many in the community due to a variety of factors, including job insecurity, ill-health, relationship breakdowns, and rising housing costs. Bridgwater Foodbank plays a vital role in addressing these challenges by offering immediate relief to individuals and families struggling to feed themselves.
During the visit, Ashley Fox met with staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure that the foodbank operates smoothly and efficiently.
"I am deeply moved by the dedication and compassion of everyone involved with Bridgwater Foodbank," said Ashley Fox. "The demand for foodbank services is a reminder of the hardships many in our community face. It’s imperative that we support initiatives like this and work towards addressing the root causes of poverty and food insecurity. Bridgwater Foodbank not only provides immediate relief but also offers a lifeline to those looking to rebuild their lives. I want to thank the many volunteers who give their time freely to help others".
