The Police and Crime Commissioner Mark Shelford has been listening to residents in Bridgwater and Burnham.
Mark Shelford has been out and about with local Councillors Diogo Rodrigues, Andy Dingwall and Conservative parliamentary candidate Ashley Fox.
Talking about the progress he has made since 2021, Mark said ‘We have trained over 1500 recruits to deliver an extra 500 police officers in Avon and Somerset. I appointed a new Chief Constable who has overseen a transformation in investigating rape and sexual assaults – with a 300% increase in these awful cases reaching the courts. And we are now the top performing force for disrupting illegal drugs and county lines. I’m proud of these achievements but there is much more to do.’
Cllr Rodrigues commented ‘Mark has worked tirelessly to keep the residents of Bridgwater and Burnham safe – both in their communities and online. As a local Councillor I can always contact him on local issues and he really does find solutions."
A vote for Mark Shelford on Thursday 2nd May will mean continued commitment to our towns rather than a total focus on Bristol.
